Job Spec

·         Marketing Procurement: Provide specialist marketing buying procurement knowledge including general knowledge of buying promotional and print mediums.
·         General Procurement: Retail and Promotional
·         Support and develop sourcing strategies for the procurement of retail and promotional buying and marketing services.
·         Prepare and conduct competitive bids, negotiations and contracts with suppliers, internal customers and stakeholders to ensure optimum value for money.
·         Develop new and innovative methods of evaluating RFQ (Request for Quote) and drafting high value contracts that maximize cash releasing benefits for the company.
·         Understand and comply with organisation's risk management policies and procedures, communicating to suppliers and stakeholders to minimize risk to the company and to effectively assess risk and implement risk management programs and processes as necessary.
·         Manage productivity goals and develop a pipeline of productivity projects to ensure continuous improvement working closely with the supply base to develop cost reduction opportunities.
·         Review ideas with management and gain cross functional group support for program initiatives.
·         Manage dispute resolution process between the company and suppliers, resolving complex issues and bring them to closure.
·         Develop/manage relationships with key suppliers and function as the key contact between the company and suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
·         Lead efforts to identify and qualify new suppliers and drive initiatives to foster the development of new suppliers in line with company requirements.
·         Offer commercial/contractual advice and guidance to internal customers and stakeholders as required and work closely to ensure they produce complete, accurate and relevant specifications and
·         SOW's (Statement of Work) for goods and services
·         Take an active role in the development and delivery of the annual Procurement work plan implementing policy throughout activity.
·         Support in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, impacting across the organization, establishing and implementing Procurement best practices and processes and monitor adherence through audits and reviews

The J2EE Architect will be responsible for the designing and maintaining of Client J2EE and other non Oracle Applications. 
The J2EE Architect is responsible for ensuring coding best practices and standards are enforced with in Client’s development teams. This will involve the whole eCommerce section of Client IT, covering all the technologies.
The J2EE Architect works with the SOA Architect ensuing that the design and development of services meet prescribed best practices for the SOA environment.

-     Architectural Duties
§ Participate in the Architecture and Design phase of the Release Cycle, providing overall design and structure of the application and processes for the Release Cycle
§ Assists with the Client Reference Architecture (creation and maintenance)
§ Create high level and low level design documents for the development initiatives on all J2EE Application Servers
§ Design and maintain the Application Server (J2EE) environment at Client (Oracle WebLogic Server)
§ Design and maintain other non-Java environments at Client (Microsoft environments)
§ Create best practices for development and deployment of applications within the Oracle WebLogic environment
§ Assisting in Capacity planning within the Oracle WebLogic Application Server environment
§ Selects the paradigm and technology for application program-to-program communication (APPC) using a Service Bus (SOA).
§ Determines the overall priority ranking of each of the possible system qualities (cost, reusability, robustness, etc.) so the other architects can design models that enforce the “balance of concerns”.
§ Responsible for defining the application tiers, frameworks, components types and interfaces. Also, creates the first-draft graphical template of UML design models used by the Team Leads.
§ Specifies and provides ownership of reusable application components or reusable application code.
 
-     Strategy & Planning
§ Creates and maintains Client’s Java and Microsoft language coding standards and best practices
§ Technical recommendation of development methodologies and frameworks for projects
§ Assessing and understanding IT and Business needs, identifying requirements, writing technical specifications, designing applications and process to satisfy the needs of the user
§ Plan the migration of non-Oracle Application servers to Oracle WebLogic
§ Plan the migration of Oracle Forms and Reports to Oracle WebLogic
§ Identifying and overseeing the non-Java Microsoft technology environment
 
-     Operational Duties
§ Ensuring that projects and processes are adequately defined and documented
§ Ensures the following best practices are adhered to:
o    Deployment
o    Coding (using coding standards developed and documented)
o    Development cycle
§ Ensures all code is placed in the Source Code Repositories
§ Manages the updating of the Client Architecture Asset Register (WAAR)
§ Mentoring and guiding the technical Development Teams
